Why is it said so, why would one say that do whatever you want to do. By saying this do they give a free permit to do whatever one wants to do. Or there are some pre-requisites to follow this kind of statements, like, do one need to understand what is doable and what is not doable. I strongly believe that this has to be understood before following any such great statement.
Now the quote itself, "let people say whatever they want to say". There are ample of people in this world, every new moment one will come across a new person and a new saying, by going with these sayings, it is almost impossible to focus on one target. And, I guess, everyone does understand the importance of being focused on one target. It is like one can put his foot in two boats simultaneously and sail across. This is just impossible. If it is possible, then the success comes with certain compromises, like one has to be extremely slow, always managing the directions. On the other hand, if one is completely focussed, then there is not need to think about managing the direction, the only thing one need to do is to just keep moving as fast as possible. This is the power of focus.
Stick to your own conviction, people will keep saying whatever they have to say. Why people will keep saying something, because everyone has different times, different inputs, so different views and different outputs of views. Probably they are not wrong, but wrong or right is not the point of concern. Concern is to keep your efforts focussed, to get best results.
The world will be at your feet, when one starts moving according to his belief, one starts attracting the same kind of energies/people, and with the passage of time, the one being turns into multiple, and then into mass. And, as usual, people starts admiring the mass.
